I'm going to Ghana in August with a youth group! And guess who is one of the leaders?!?! My brotha COLESON!! Haha. I'm so excited. As many people know, I go to Ghana quite often. This is my fifth time. My parents built a children's home there and they have their own organization called "Ghana Make A Difference." It's pretty cool what they do! They have kids who don't have a family or their parents need some help, come live at the home. They try to get kids back to their families. Over in Ghana they are very religious. I love that because they have a strong belief in their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It's way cool! Ghana is probably my top favorite place in the world. When I first went there it changed me a lot. As I work in the children's home, I see how happy they are, even though they have nothing! In America, we take so much for granted. Do we realize all the privileges we have here in America? We have running water, beds, carpet, air conditioning, and many other things they've never experienced! I found this picture and I had never thought of it this way.
I went to Ghana feeling sorry for them and also thinking, I can help these kids so much but instead they helped me! They help me be more grateful for what I have. Even though they have very little, they have big happy smiles! Ghana has been such a big part of my life and I'm soooo excited to go back! I have made many great friends and I miss them A LOT! I love being able to serve over there. It means a lot to me to help these kids who are my friends. There is a girl named Esther that has a condition called Treacher Collins. I haven't really talked to her a lot but I'm excited to talk to her more and show her my hearing aids! She got hearing aids not to long ago! What's cool about that is she got the same ones as I do!! It's pretty sweet! The people in Ghana are fun to be with. The Ghana Make A Difference staff is so awesome! They are super duper fun people! I can't wait to play UNO with Ebeneezer. (He calls me his UNO coach haha.) This youth trip will be way fun! I just can't wait to be holding those kids again and playing futbol with the them! I'm ready for another adventure in Ghana!
